Arrest Made After Shots Fired at Home in Marmora and Lake

A 46-year-old has been arrested and charged after shots were fired at a home in Marmora and Lake Township yesterday afternoon.


The call came in just after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, reporting gunfire at a residence on High Shore Road near Highway 7. No serious injuries were reported.


Central Hastings OPP, along with the Emergency Response Team and the Canine Unit, responded quickly. Within an hour, officers located a suspect and made an arrest without further incident.


With help from the OPP Crime Unit and Forensic Identification Services, investigators laid several charges, Jason Fluke faces the following charges:


  • Attempt to commit murder


  • Discharge of a firearm with intent


  • Careless use of a firearm


  • Pointing a firearm


  • Using a firearm while committing an offence


  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose


  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm


  • Careless storage of a firearm


  • Uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm


  • Forcible entry


  • Break and enter


  • Theft under $5000


  • Mischief – damage to property



The accused remains in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing.


Police have confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the public.
