A 40-year-old Belleville man is in custody following a domestic-related incident involving repeated breaches of court-ordered conditions.

Belleville Police responded to a residence in the city’s east end at approximately 4:02 p.m. on March 18th after receiving reports of a male inside the home yelling and causing a disturbance.

Upon investigation, officers determined the man was bound by probation conditions prohibiting him from attending the residence or communicating with the female occupant.

Despite those restrictions, police allege the man attended the residence and engaged in disruptive behaviour.

He was arrested at the scene and charged with four counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The identity of the accused has been withheld in order to protect the victim's privacy

Police emphasize that breaches of court-imposed conditions, particularly in domestic situations, are taken seriously as they directly undermine safeguards intended to protect victims and prevent further escalation.

Anyone experiencing or witnessing domestic violence is urged to report it immediately to police.

If you or anyone you know is experiencing domestic violence, please speak up and report it to your local authorities.
