Belleville Man Charged Following Assault Involving Glass Object

Belleville Police have laid charges following an investigation into an assault that left one man with injuries earlier this month.
According to police, officers received a report on March 31st regarding an incident that occurred on March 21st.
The investigation determined that a physical altercation took place between two adult males. During the confrontation, one individual allegedly struck the other in the head with a glass object, causing it to shatter.
The injured male attended a local hospital and was treated for what have been described as minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Belleville man has been arrested and charged with:
Assault with a weapon
Assault causing bodily harm
Fail to comply with a probation order (two counts)
The accused was held for a bail hearing. Police have not released the name of the accused or further details at this time.
