Update #1: Traffic seems to be moving fairly well going westbound while the left lane and left shoulder remain closed.
Motorists travelling along Highway 401 westbound near Deseronto are being advised of significant delays following a collision in the area.
The incident occurred at the Highway 49 interchange (IC 566) on the 401 going westbound, near Marysville Road, where emergency crews are currently on scene.
As a result, the left lane and left shoulder remain closed while responders work to manage the situation.
Drivers passing through the area should expect slow-moving traffic and possible backups as crews continue their response. At this time, there is no confirmed information regarding injuries or how many vehicles were involved.
Motorists are urged to proceed with caution, move over for emergency vehicles, and consider alternate routes where possible.
