Elderly Man Robbed in Broad Daylight as Belleville Police Search for Suspects

Belleville Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying and locating two suspects following a daytime robbery involving an elderly man in the area of Pepper Avenue.
Police investigated the incident on July 20th, 2026, after the victim was approached at approximately 1:05 p.m. by a man and woman.
According to police, the suspects forcibly removed the victim’s gold chain and attempted to replace it with a counterfeit chain. They also attempted to steal the victim’s gold watch but were unsuccessful.
The suspects are described as a man and woman who were travelling in a white Chevrolet Equinox.
The investigation remains ongoing.
Anyone who witnessed the encounter, has surveillance or dash cam footage from the area, or has information that could help police identify or locate the suspects is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882.
