UPDATE: As of 3:50pm officials are stating all youth are safe and on shore

Emergency crews are currently responding to another water rescue call currently in progress on East Lake near the Outlet River Campground, located along County Road 18 in the Picton area.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Prince Edward County Fire and Rescue (PECFR) were dispatched to the scene shortly after 3:20 p.m. following reports that three youth swimmers were struggling to return to shore. Officials confirm that the individuals are not wearing life jackets.

PECFR has deployed a boat to assist in the rescue efforts, and the status of the swimmers remains unknown at this time.

The situation is active and developing. Motorists are advised to avoid the area to allow emergency responders clear access to the lakefront.
