An early morning fire broke out today in an apartment above 306 Front Street, prompting the temporary closure of the shop located below.
The store’s owner, Susan, has been in business for over 23 years. While the fire was contained to the residential unit above, the business has been impacted and is currently closed as damage is assessed.
“At this point, I’m not sure how long we’ll be closed or whether I’ll need to find a temporary location,” Susan shared. “I do have insurance, but these things take time, and there’s a lot still to figure out.”
This is the first time in over two decades that the shop has faced an event of this kind, and the uncertainty has been difficult. However, Susan is committed to reopening when it’s safe and feasible.
For updates over the coming days, she encourages the community to follow the store’s Facebook business page. She can also be reached directly at 613-962-0265.
“I just want to thank everyone for their support and understanding. I’m doing everything I can to move forward and appreciate your patience while we work through it.”
