At approximately 2:36 p.m. on Tuesday, Tyendinaga Fire responded to a fire on the train tracks along Wyman Road.

When crews arrived, they located two railway ties on fire. Firefighters quickly began working to bring the flames under control.

By 2:46 p.m., a CN Rail representative had arrived on scene, and a stop train order was issued to ensure safety along the affected section of track.

Authorities are reminding residents to remain vigilant about fire safety, especially around dry vegetation and railways, where even small sparks can quickly lead to larger incidents.
