Drivers are being urged to take extra caution this morning as a serious collision has forced the closure of all Westbound lanes on Highway 401 between Wesleyville Road and Newtonville Road.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours, prompting an immediate response from emergency crews. As of now, both the westbound lanes and at the Newtonville Road on-ramp remain fully closed as first responders attend to the scene and traffic investigators begin their work.
Motorists traveling through the area are facing major delays, with traffic being diverted at Newtonville Road. Some drivers report being rerouted through local roads, causing congestion in surrounding communities. There is no confirmed timeline for when the highway will reopen.
