Highway 62 Southbound Closed Following Serious Multi-Vehicle Collision

| Small Town News | A Division of Small Town Productions |

Update: As of 3:56 p.m the highway has fully reopened

Highway 62 southbound is closed between Valley Road in Belleville and County Road 14 in Crofton after a serious multi-vehicle collision, creating major disruptions for drivers in the area.

Prince Edward County OPP say emergency crews are currently on scene responding to the crash and working to ensure everyone involved receives the care they need. At this time, the extent of any injuries has not been confirmed, and police have not released further details about those involved.

Collisions like this serve as a reminder of how quickly everyday travel can change, and how important it is for drivers to remain patient and cautious when unexpected situations arise on the road. With first responders actively working in the area, traffic delays are expected, and access to the roadway remains restricted for safety reasons.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and plan alternate routes to allow emergency crews to do their work and to help keep everyone safe. Drivers approaching the area should slow down and follow all directions from police and traffic control personnel.

Updates will be provided as more information becomes available from Prince Edward County OPP.
