Kingston Man Arrested Following Belleville Stolen Vehicle Investigation

Belleville Police have arrested a 51-year-old Kingston man following a stolen vehicle investigation that began the previous day.
The incident was initially reported on July 19th, 2026. By the following morning, officers had identified and located a suspect matching the description connected to the investigation, demonstrating a quick response by members of the Belleville Police Service.
At approximately 11:06 a.m. on July 20th, officers responded to the area of Cannifton Road and Bell Boulevard after receiving information that the suspect had been seen nearby.
Just seven minutes later, at approximately 11:13 a.m. on July 20th, officers located the male and he was quickly taken into custody.
The arrest came less than a day after the original stolen vehicle incident was reported, highlighting the quick investigative work and coordinated response of the officers involved.
As a result of the investigation, the man was charged with:
Theft of a motor vehicle
Theft under $5,000
Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
Flight from a peace officer
Dangerous operation x2
Failure to comply with a release order x3
Break and enter
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
