Madoc Man Charged Following Threats, Fraud, and Property Damage Investigation in Belleville

A man from Madoc is facing several criminal charges after an incident that led to a police response at a residence in Belleville’s west end.


Members of the Belleville Police Service attended the home on March 5th after receiving a report related to an occurrence that had taken place on March 2nd.


Police were informed that a male had attended the residence of a female occupant, where he allegedly began striking the windows and eventually broke one while attempting to gain entry into the home.


During the course of the investigation, officers also received information that the suspect had used the woman’s credit card to conduct several transactions without permission.


It was further reported that threats had been made toward the victim.

Police later located the suspect and attempted to take him into custody. During the arrest, the male briefly attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended a short distance away.


As a result of the investigation, a 47-year-old man from Madoc was arrested and charged with:
