The Marmora community is coming together in grief and compassion after a body was found yesterday at the north end boat launch. The name of the individual and the family has been kept confidential for privacy reasons as the family navigates this difficult time.
Residents, including Matt McGarvey who witnessed the recovery, reported a strong police presence in the area as authorities respectfully removed the individual from the water. While official details remain limited, some community members have shared that the man may have been living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, a possibility that has touched many deeply.
During this time of loss, the community extends its heartfelt condolences to the man’s family. While no words can ease their pain, many hope they can find comfort in the care, respect, and support being shown by their neighbors.
Residents have also reminded one another of the importance of cherishing time with family, checking in on loved ones, and holding close the moments that matter most.
Though the community feels the weight of this tragedy, what shines through most is a spirit of kindness and unity. Marmora stands together in offering sympathy, strength, and compassion to the grieving family during this difficult time.
