"Our thoughts go out to all those affected by this tragic accident."
Around 11:30 PM last night, emergency crews rushed to downtown Belleville after a pedestrian was struck by a moving train.
The collision took place along Dundas Street East, between Foster Avenue and Newberry Street, with response efforts extending south toward St. Paul Street. Belleville police officers, firefighters and paramedics all arrived on scene and advised nearby residents and drivers to keep clear while they worked.
CP Rail Police first alerted local dispatch to a possible train–pedestrian incident. Initial details were limited as BPS Feeds are encrypted and rarely available to the public over the scanner feed.
