A 14-year-old Peterborough male is facing multiple charges following an incident involving weapons and threats aboard a City of Peterborough transit bus Thursday afternoon.
According to Peterborough Police, officers were called to the area of Parkhill Road and Armour Road at approximately 3:15 p.m. on June 4th, 2026, after receiving reports of a passenger carrying a knife on a transit bus.
When officers arrived, they learned that the bus driver had stopped the vehicle and the suspect had exited. Police say the individual dropped an item in the grass before walking away along Armour Road.
Officers quickly located a male matching the description provided and took him into custody without incident. During a search following the arrest, police allegedly discovered a sword and bear mace in the suspect's possession.
Investigators later determined that the youth had been wearing a face mask and had allegedly punched another teenage passenger while also making verbal threats toward them during the bus ride.
As a result of the investigation, the 14-year-old was charged with:
Assault
Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
Carrying a Concealed Weapon
Disguise with Intent
The accused was released on an undertaking with conditions and is scheduled to appear in court on July 13, 2026.
Under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be released.
