Update #1: We are receiving reports the hold and secure order has been lifted
Police were once again on scene at St. Mary Catholic Secondary School in Cobourg on Tuesday morning as part of an ongoing investigation into reported threats.
According to the Cobourg Police Service, officers returned to the school at approximately 10:00 a.m. after receiving additional information. As a precaution, the school was placed under a hold and secure while police carried out a detailed search of the building.
Authorities confirmed that nothing suspicious was located during the search.
Police say there is no immediate danger to students or staff, and no injuries have been reported.
The investigation remains ongoing, and the school will continue to operate under a hold and secure until further notice.
Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area as officers continue their work.
