The annual Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Campaign is once again underway across the Quinte Region, symbolizing remembrance and gratitude for those who served Canada in times of war and peace.
From Belleville to Trenton and throughout the surrounding communities, Legion volunteers are offering poppies by donation at storefronts, community events, and public spaces. The campaign raises vital funds to support local veterans and their families through emergency assistance, housing programs, and medical aid.
Local Legion branches; including Belleville Branch 99, Trenton Branch 110, and Stirling Branch 228, encourage residents to wear their poppies with pride as a visible tribute to those who sacrificed for freedom.
Poppy boxes are now available in local businesses, municipal offices, and schools across the region.
The Legion’s online Poppy Store also offers digital poppies and commemorative merchandise for those who prefer to donate virtually.
Remembrance Day services are planned throughout the Quinte Region on November 11, including ceremonies at Belleville’s Station Street Cenotaph and Bain Park in Trenton, where veterans, families, and residents will gather to honour the fallen.
“Every poppy represents a thank-you,” said one local volunteer. “It’s a simple gesture, but it means the world to those who served.”
