A fire at on Dudley Road is causing smoke to drift toward Highway 401, creating delays and reduced visibility for drivers in the area.
According to preliminary information, the fire began in a shed on the property located at 892 Dudley Road on the boarder of Colborne & Alnwick Haldimand Township. At this time, no occupants have been located.
Fire crews and OPP are on scene as the situation continues to develop. Smoke from the fire has started crossing over Highway 401, leading to low visibility and traffic delays.
Officials are reportedly considering whether a highway closure may be required for safety, but no official decision has been made at this time.
Drivers travelling through the area are being urged to slow down, use caution, and be prepared for changing traffic conditions.
