Traffic Light Malfunction at Highway 7 and Forsyth Street in Marmora: Temporary Measures in Effect

The Town of Marmora, within the Municipality of Marmora and Lake, is advising residents and travelers of a traffic signal malfunction at the intersection of Highway 7 and Forsyth Street. The traffic light control cabinet has failed and must be replaced before the system can return to normal operation.
A new cabinet has been ordered, but the expected delivery and installation timeframe is two to four weeks. In the meantime, municipal staff are actively exploring short-term solutions to ensure traffic flows safely through the area.
Until full repairs are completed, the intersection will continue to operate in its fail-safe mode:
Eastbound and westbound traffic: Flashing yellow light – drivers should slow down and proceed with caution.
Northbound and southbound traffic: Flashing red light – drivers must stop and proceed when safe, as at a stop sign.
Due to the specific nature of the control failure, the lights cannot be switched to a four-way stop configuration.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to use extra caution and patience when traveling through this intersection. The Town of Marmora appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this time and will provide updates as new information becomes available.
