Trenton Man Arrested on Assault Warrant After Being Found in Belleville Backyard
An early-morning report of an unknown man in a backyard in Belleville’s west end led to the arrest of a 28-year-old Trenton resident on an outstanding warrant related to a recent incident of assault in the Belleville Area.
On September 6th, 2026, at approximately 4:23 a.m. Belleville Police responded after receiving a report that an unfamiliar man was in the backyard.
When officers arrived, they found the man sitting on the property and spoke with him. During their investigation, officers determined that he had an outstanding Belleville Police Service arrest warrant for assault.
Police identified the man as Bret Hill, age 28, from Trenton. He was arrested on the strength of the existing warrant.
Hill was later released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
