UPDATE: Additional Charges Laid in Ongoing Sexual Assault Investigation in Trent Hills

| Small Town News | A Division of Small Town Productions |

Police with the Northumberland OPP have confirmed new developments in an ongoing sexual assault investigation in the Trent Hills area.

The investigation began on February 21st after an incident was reported to the police. Authorities believe the alleged offence took place the day prior at a business on Front Street North in Trent Hills.

As officers continued their investigation, they worked alongside the OPP Crime Unit and received additional information from members of the public. Police say that as more individuals came forward, four separate arrests were made.

These developments have led to nine additional charges being laid, with the most recent charge added yesterday.

As a result, 43-year-old Adam Macmillan of Campbellford is now facing nine counts of sexual assault. He remains before the court as the case proceeds.

Investigators have released a photo of the accused in an effort to protect the public and encourage anyone who may have information, or who believes they may have been affected, to come forward.
