A devastating house fire late last night has destroyed a rural home on Silver Rock Lane in Hartington, just outside of Kingston.
The family; consisting of a husband, wife, and their adult daughter, lost nearly everything in the blaze. While all of their dogs were rescued, the family suffered heartbreaking losses with their cats and other pets.
Of their three cats, one managed to escape, another is receiving oxygen treatment at the vet, and one was tragically found deceased earlier today. The family also lost three fish in the fire.
With the long weekend delaying insurance support until Tuesday, the family is in urgent need of help from the community.
