Weather conditions across the region are impacting both school operations and student transportation today.
Tri-Board Student Transportation Services has issued multiple weather-related updates for Monday, January 19, 2026, including confirmed school closures and widespread bus cancellations across several Tri-Board transportation zones.
With winter weather affecting road conditions in many communities, families are encouraged to plan accordingly this morning, and to continue monitoring updates as conditions and decisions can change quickly.
🏫 Confirmed School Closures
The Tri-Board’s closure listing shows the following schools are closed today, due to weather, with notices posted at 5:29 a.m.:
Athol-South Marysburgh PS
C.M.L. Snider PS
Kente PS
Massassaga Rednersville PS
Prince Edward Collegiate Institute
Sophiasburgh Central PS
St. Gregory CS
Families connected to these schools are encouraged to watch for additional school messaging from their board/school administration, including any updates related to learning schedules, programming, or extracurricular activities.
❌ Bus Cancellations Across Multiple Zones
In addition to the above closures, the Tri-Board has also cancelled buses across multiple areas, impacting a large number of routes today.
The Tri-Board reports that all buses are cancelled in the following zones:
Belleville & Quinte West
Centre Hastings
Prince Edward County
Central L&A
South L&A
Kingston area
South Frontenac
This means many families may still have schools open but no transportation running, depending on the zone and school-level decisions.
🚌 Areas Still Operating (Delays Still Possible)
While many zones are cancelled, the Tri-Board indicates buses are currently listed as running in:
North Hastings
North L&A
North & Central Frontenac
The Tri-Board notes that even when a zone is operating, individual routes may still be delayed or cancelled due to local road conditions, visibility concerns, or changing weather throughout the morning.
✅ What Families Should Do
The Tri-Board continues to encourage families to check transportation information regularly, including:
the BusPlanner cancellation and alert page
the Tri-Board’s route notifications (app/email)
board/school communications (email and social updates)
