The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 103 in Campbellford has officially launched this year’s Poppy Campaign, bringing the community of Trent Hills together in remembrance.

Residents in Campbellford, Warkworth, and Hastings are encouraged to wear their poppies proudly and reflect on the sacrifices made by Canadian veterans who fought for peace and freedom. Volunteers have placed poppy boxes at local shops, schools, and government offices, continuing a tradition that connects generations through shared gratitude.

Funds raised through the campaign stay local, helping veterans and their families with medical equipment, transportation, housing assistance, and other essential needs.

A Remembrance Day service will be held at the Campbellford Cenotaph on Bridge Street West with the parade forming at 10:30am and making it's way to the ceremony site for 10:58am

In Hastings the parade will also start at 10:30am and make it's way to the cenotaph in Hastings for 10:55am.

Last but certainly not least there will also be a service held in Warkworth at the cenotaph commencing at 10:50am.

The ceremonies will feature wreath-laying by local organizations, first responders, and families of veterans, accompanied with a moment of silence in commemoration for those who fought so hard for our freedom and to the many that lost their lives.

“This community always shows its heart,” said one Legion volunteer. “We wear the poppy not just to remember the past, but to care for those who are still with us today.”
