Two Charged Following Domestic Dispute in Belleville

Two people are facing assault charges following an intimate partner violence investigation in Belleville on Monday evening.
Belleville Police responded to a North Front Street residence at approximately 5:50 p.m. on October 5 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute.
According to police, officers spoke with a 34-year-old woman who alleged that a 38-year-old man punched her during a verbal argument before leaving the residence.
While officers were investigating at the home, the man attended the Belleville Police Service separately and reported that he had also been assaulted during the same incident. He alleged that the woman had punched him.
Following the investigation, police arrested and charged both individuals.
The 38-year-old Belleville man was charged with:
Assault - spousal
Two counts of failing to comply with a probation order
He was held for a bail hearing.
The 34-year-old Belleville woman was charged with:
Assault - spousal
She was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in November.
