Environment officials report that 10 to 15 centimetres of snow may fall across the region, with periods of reduced visibility due to heavy bursts of snow and blowing snow.

What to Expect

• 10–15 cm of accumulating snow

• Local blowing snow

• Rapid drops in visibility during heavier bands

Timing

• Light snow continues this afternoon

• A more significant snowfall will start this evening

• Snow tapers off west to east Wednesday afternoon

This system is being driven by an Alberta clipper, known for delivering fast-moving but intense winter weather.

Travel Conditions Will Be Challenging

Drivers and pedestrians should expect difficult conditions overnight going into Wednesday afternoon:

• Roads and sidewalks will likely become snow-covered and slippery

• Blowing snow may create near-whiteout conditions in exposed areas

• Commuters may experience slower travel and reduced visibility

Taking extra caution, slowing down, and planning additional time on the roads is strongly recommended.
