Forecasters say total snowfall amounts could reach between 10 and 15 centimetres, with reduced visibility possible at times during heavier bursts of snow.

The system is expected to move in on Friday morning, continue throughout the day and overnight, and gradually move out of the region Saturday morning.

Snow may mix with rain at times on Friday afternoon and evening, which could lead to slushy conditions before temperatures drop later in the night.

As temperatures fall Friday night, icy roads and sidewalks may develop, increasing the risk of slippery travel conditions.

Residents Are Advised To:

• Slow down and allow extra time when travelling, especially during periods of heavier snowfall and reduced visibility.

• Maintain a safe distance from other vehicles and be prepared for changing road conditions.

• Use caution when walking, as sidewalks and walkways may become slippery as snow accumulates.

• Wear proper winter footwear to reduce the risk of slips and falls.

• Take frequent breaks when clearing snow and avoid overexertion, particularly with heavier snow.

• Dress in layers and protect exposed skin when spending extended time outdoors.

Updates will be shared as new information comes in and the weather system continues to develop.
